Lauryn’s Emails:
Dear Ms. Jeong,
Greetings. My name is Lauryn Leong and I am a junior at Monte Vista High School in Danville, California. I am a journalist for our newspaper, The Stampede, and I wanted to ask you a few questions.
Being a k-pop fan for the past two years, I have learned last week that there was a major scandal involving Seungri from BigBang and TV personality Jung Joon-Young.
It is absolutely heartbreaking to hear that gender equality is still such a major issue in South Korea. It’s also incredibly shocking that such famous celebrities would be involved in these scandals.
I contacted you in hopes of setting up an interview (either through phone or email) to discuss the effects of this scandal. My hope is to gain a grasp on how severe this scandal is and how it’s affecting not only Korea, but also the entire k-pop industry. Many people around the world are now exposing themselves to the world of k-pop, and I want to know how this scandal is going to affect the views of k-pop fans as well.
Here are some starting questions I have:
1. How did this scandal start and who started it?
2. How is this affecting Korean society?
3. What is the country going to do about the thousands of hidden cameras throughout Korea?
4. What were the reactions of both k-pop fans and the Korean people?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this email. I hope we can keep in touch and set up an interview sometime in the future.
Sincerely, Lauryn Leong

Gannon’s Email:
Dear Grammy organization,
Hi. My name is Gannon Schulz and I am a student at Monte Vista high school here in northern California. I am a member of the journalism program here as well as a staff writer for the school paper. I visited the Grammy museum in downtown Los Angeles back in November while visiting colleges. I was amazed when I took the tour of the museum starting in the top floor. I really enjoyed the different pieces of music as well as the objects in the cases, although the middle floor was definitely my favorite. I enjoyed walking around and checking out the sound booths and recording studios as well as different pieces of art and music.I have some questions for my blog regarding the objects and activities inside the museum.
Here’s 3 questions I have:
1. How is each artifact chosen to be in the exhibit?
2. Is there any genre’s that are new to the museum or being chosen?
3.How are these special music objects found and put in the exhibits?
4. How often are the exhibits cleaned out and changed into new ones?
5. Who picks what each exhibit will include?
Thanks so much for taking time to read my email. Hopefully a response will be sent back sooner than later.Appreciate it,
Gannon Schulz
Ava’s Email:
Dear Ms. Yam,
My name is Ava Hunt and I am a journalist for my high school. I really enjoyed your K-Pop article and your perspective on how masculinity is fluid. My classmates and I have created a blog on music and the effects it has on society. I would greatly appreciate it if you would be willing to answer a few questions I have, by either phone or email.
How has music changed throughout the past 10 years?
How has music influenced other realms of business? (ie. sales, TV, marketing)
What types of changes do you predict will occur in the music world within the next 10 years?
Thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely,
Ava Hunt
